The value of the investment in the new warehouse exceeds PLN 17 million. Its aim is, on the one hand, to ensure that products are fully available, and, on the other hand, to adapt the sales cycle to market requirements, and production capacity to the sales cycle. The new warehouse will allow CIECH SA to triple its warehouse space. In future, the potential expansion with additional automation systems could further increase the storage space available for salt products.
“Expanding our offer with specialist products, including those based on salt, such as water treatment tablets, is one of foundations of further development of CIECH Group. We invest in infrastructure that allows us to provide better customer service, ensure appropriate delivery liquidity, but also to systematically expand the range of salt products," says Artur Osuchowski, Member of CIECH SA. “Construction of the new warehouse will enable us to extend our range of salt products in the long term, as well as significantly improve cost effectiveness and reduce the time required for internal operations. For example, the time of loading the vehicles with finished products will be shortened that will be even halved,” says Damian Kowenicki, Member of CIECH Soda Polska Management Board and Head of Business Unit "Sól" in CIECH Group.
3,600 sq. metre building will be capable of storing more than 13,000 pallets and will eventually, after additional automation, provide space for up to 20,000 pallets. The high utilisation rate will be achieved by dense storage technology and modern internal transport solutions, including conveyor systems combined with automatic pallet recognition and flow control, as well as automated satellite troleys.
The Janikowo plant produces over 1,500 tons of salt per day in 24/7 system. The range of salt products offered by the plant includes the popular Kujawska salt that can be bought in many retail chains in Poland. Salt products of from Janikowo are also sold in Western and Central Europe, as well as in Scandinavian countries. The plant holds a number of certificates that confirm the highest quality of production, including FSCC 22000 certifying the safety of production of food grade salt.
